Assistant Contract Officer

Job Introduction

The Strategic Contracts Team focuses on managing corporate contracts, analysing data, ensuring compliance, and procuring mainly within the Professional Category for the entire Council.  

Role Description

 We are looking for three Assistant Contract Officers to join our dedicated team in the Corporate Resources. These roles are an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. 

 The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Support contract managers across the Council in all aspects of day to day contract management ensuring the set up and maintenance of the administrative arrangements for effective and efficient contract management are complied with, including stakeholder communication, governance, performance monitoring arrangements, payments and file/records management.
  • Conduct contractual monitoring, identifying and initiating remedies for data quality issues to support the provision of assurance of service delivery in line with strategy and contract and report on compliance and delivery performance 
  • Ensure all council policies and procedures and contract mechanisms are properly applied by the Strategic Contract Management Team, delivery units and delivery partners.

 We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support to our Strategic Contracts Team. This role involves a range of tasks, including invoice processing and supporting contract  managers.

You’ll be someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, adapts well to change, and maintains high standards in everything you do. Confidence in addressing and challenging underperformance is also key to success in this role.
