Job Introduction

Our Officers are responsible for the maintenance of the rating lists as well as billing, collecting and recovering money owed to the Council (Business Rates). As well as dealing with letters and emails they handle telephone calls and work in a busy environment dealing with varied matters with a strong focus on accuracy and customer service. 

Successful candidates can expect to receive:

  • 25 days per year holiday entitlement (increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service) and a further 8 public holidays as well as the opportunity to take extra time off under our flexi scheme 
  • The option to work at home, provided the required knowledge level and work targets are met 
  • Flexibility around your working hours (subject to the needs of the team) 
  • Membership of the West Yorkshire Local Government Pension scheme
  • A city centre working location – within walking distance of the bus and train stations and the main shopping centres.

Candidates may be invited to a test prior to the interview. We expect the test and interviews to take place sometime between 1st December 2025 to 12th December 2025 with an anticipated start date of 2nd February 2026.
