An exciting opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for a Cleaning Assistant to work at the above site.
All varied cleaning duties are to be undertaken within the specified location. This includes toilets, offices, kitchens, corridors and contact rooms. You will be part of a team, and you will cover each other for annual leave and sickness, and you have a supervisor onsite. You may be required to help provide cover at surrounding sites if needed.
Experience is preferred but not essential as successful candidates will be supported through an induction training programme. In return, you will receive opportunities to develop within the organisation and other benefits which you would expect from a Local Authority.
From October 2016 Central Government will be introducing a new Code of Practice as part of the Government Immigration Bill, which specifies that all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will have the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for the role they will be undertaking. This includes social workers, teaching staff and assistants and council employees. This will require that a person working in a “Customer Facing” role can speak, listen and understand Basic English as a minimum.
