Job Introduction
We’re looking for a Creative (Graphic Designer) to join our Department of Place. You’ll be working hand-in-hand with the Head of Place Marketing, working up creative designs that celebrate everything that makes our district and communities great. It’s a chance to make a real difference. You’ll be designing for real stories and real people, and your work will have an impact you can see and feel.
You’ll be at the heart of some exciting projects, from designing for big campaigns to bringing bold placemaking ideas to life. One day you might be crafting social media content, the next you could be working on environmental designs that transform the way people see our city and district.
We’re after someone full of ideas, energy, and a passion for design. You’ll be confident taking a brief and turning it into something that makes people stop, look, and feel good about our city and district.
You'll be:
- Working closely with the Head of Place Marketing to develop standout campaigns to help shape and maintain our place identity
- Creating designs that grab attention and tell a story, working across digital, print, social media, and real-world spaces.
- Developing assets for a wide range of audiences including investors, businesses, residents, visitors, partners, and internal teams. to develop marketing materials to support specific projects, activities and events
- Producing material such as prospectuses, ad campaigns, large-scale promotional materials, maps, data visualisations, digital graphics – including videos, animations, and other visuals to service emerging audiences and channels
- Juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, friendly environment where no two days are the same
You'll need:
- A knack for creative thinking and a good eye for what looks great
- Experience designing for different platforms – whether it’s for print, web, or social media
- A solid grip on Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, the works).
- A head full of ideas, plus the skills to make them a reality
- The ability to keep calm under pressure and juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines
- A collaborative approach
- To keep an eye on the latest design trends and bring fresh ideas into the mix
