Job Introduction
The Register Office team is based at City Hall, Bradford, but works across the Bradford and Keighley Registration District, delivering Birth, Death, Still-birth Registrations and Marriage, Civil Partnership and Citizenship Ceremonies.
We are seeking to recruit a Deputy Registrar to carry out the duties prescribed by statute, regulation and instruction in respect of all registration functions. This role is an opportunity to work with all residents in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- To register marriages and civil partnerships at the Register Office and other approved venues
- To be the main point of contact to the public attending the Register office for appointments
- To give advice face and to face, via telephone and email about all aspects of registration
- To issue all duplicate birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates
- Additional duties at Band 6 - register births, deaths and still-births
- Additional duties at Band 7 - officiate at marriage ceremonies and other non-statutory ceremonies.
