Education Safeguarding Officer

Job Introduction

About the team

The Education Safeguarding team are responsible for ensuring that every school aged child has safe and successful educational provision. This team works collaboratively with Council teams and wider agencies to provide a coordinated approach to the wellbeing of children and young people, to ensure they have the support they need to be healthy, stay safe and enjoy and achieve.

We are looking to recruit an additional Education Safeguarding Officer to join a team of officers who are responsible for
  • Providing advice and support to education settings and staff regarding safeguarding matters and elective home education (EHE);
  • Support for elective home education and understanding what a suitable full time education looks like;
  • Responding to practice that falls below agreed standards and policies set out by the DfE and the Local Safeguarding Children Board.
 
About the role

The team of officers are individually motivated but work closely together to lead in the delivery of Education Safeguarding functions with a particular focus on vulnerable groups including children with a social worker, those at risk of exclusion, children who are not in school, and those involved with Early Help or the Youth Justice Service.
We are looking to recruit a FTE additional Safeguarding Officer to join a team of officers who are responsible for
  • Providing advice and support to education settings and staff regarding safeguarding matters and elective home education (EHE);
  • Support for elective home education and understanding what a suitable full time education looks like;
  • Responding to practice that falls below agreed standards and policies set out by the DfE and the Local Safeguarding Children Board.

A enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
