About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and results driven Employment Adviser to support residents of Bradford District into sustainable education, employment and training. Working as part of the SkillsHouse Adult Services team, you will deliver high-quality, person‑-centred‑ employment support to individuals across the district.

The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about social impact, confident delivering outreach and face‑to‑face support in community and school settings, understands the local labour market, and thrives in a fast‑paced, target‑driven but supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one employment support, providing personalised advice, guidance, and action planning to clients from a range of backgrounds
  • Support clients to identify career goals and overcome barriers
  • Assist residents with CV writing, job applications, interview preparation, and job-search activity
  • Undertake home visits to support clients as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely records on management information systems
  • Achieve KPIs in line with contractual targets
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including training providers and community organisations
  • Promote equality, inclusion, and safeguarding in all aspects of service delivery
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Be able to work from community based settings and the office

About You

You will be pro-active, organised, and confident in working with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You should be able to motivate individuals and manage a varied caseload effectively.

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of supporting people into employment, education, or training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a caseload effectively
  • Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Knowledge of employability practices and the local labour market
  • Understanding of barriers such as health, disability, or long-term unemployment
