Location: Bradford, BD1

Salary: £24,971 - £27,504 FTE per annum (£14,982.60 - £16,502.40 per annum for part-time, 22.2 hours per week)

Contract type:  Permanent

We are looking for a Young Person’s IDVA to provide a range of targeted interventions with young people (13 -17yrs) across the Bradford district, where they are significantly affected by, or at risk of, teen relationship/ family based domestic abuse.  You will be part of a service that works with young people to promote their safety and resilience, reduce symptoms of trauma, and empowers them to make positive life choices. 

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Completing assessments and risk assessments with young people to identify need
  • Building support plans with young people to address the impact of domestic abuse
  • Delivering trauma informed interventions with young people who have been affected by domestic abuse.
  • Signposting, making referrals, safety planning and advocating for young people
  • Working closely with statutory and voluntary services to ensure a holistic support package is in place

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

  • You will have experience of working directly with children, young people and their families where there has been domestic abuse.
  • You will have an understanding and experience of trauma informed approaches to working with children and families
  • You will have experience of safeguarding risk assessment, identifying safeguarding concerns and following procedures.
  • Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced Child Workforce Child Barred Lists
