Job Introduction
An opportunity has arisen for a semi-skilled gardener to work from Northcliffe Part Depot, Shipley undertaking all aspects of grounds maintenance work including grass cutting, shrub and flower bed maintenance and any other horticultural tasks as identified on sites with the local authority district.
We are looking for a semi-skilled gardener to join our dedicated team in the Department of Place. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- Responsible for maintaining good relations and dealing with enquiries from members of the public.
- Responsible for ensuring that equipment is safe to use and that all safety requirements applicable to the operative, other employees and members of the public are adhered to.
- Responsible for the operation of and minor maintenance of mowing equipment, small tools and plant.
- Responsible for security of equipment and plant being used on site.
- Responsible for carrying out works to a high standard.
- Responsible for own health and safety whilst working on site and also responsible for colleagues and members of the public.
- Responsible for working in a public domain and adhering to Bradford Council's employee code of conduct.
- Responsible for carrying out day to day instructions from the Supervisor or Manager.
