ISP - 1st Line Desktop Support

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional IT support and customer service? Join the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s IT Services team and play a key role in supporting our organisation’s technology needs. As part of our Infrastructure & Desktop Services group, you’ll be the first point of contact for end-user IT support, helping us maintain high service standards and drive innovation across the Council.

Role Description 

As a 1st Line Desktop Support ISP, you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT service requests and incidents, providing accurate diagnostics and resolutions.
  • Deliver an excellent customer focused service and ensure a positive end-user experience during every interaction.
  • Use IT service management tools and follow ITIL processes to maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Support and advise end-users on Council IT systems, including desktops, laptops, VPN, and Microsoft technologies (Windows 11, Office 365).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and resolve technical issues, implementing preventative measures where possible.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant legislation (DPA, FOI, Child Protection Act).
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements and contribute to service enhancements.
  • Occasionally deputise for the Senior ISP or Team Manager.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in an ICT service operations environment.
  • Knowledge of ITIL protocols and IT service management tools.
  • Strong understanding of desktop technologies, remote access, and EUC (End User Computing).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and solve problems effectively.
