The Independence Advice Hub is the first point of contact for Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing Department, here we follow the principles of Home First to all customers, both general public and professionals requiring assistance with personal care, caring responsibilities, equipment solutions, safeguarding concerns or information and advice on statutory and voluntary agencies and other local activities.
Our main aim is promoting a person’s independence in a professional and strengths-based manner. This is underpinned with our ethos of embracing ‘Early Help and Prevention’.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking a career in adult Social Care and Occupational Therapy. The role involves working alongside a range of social care professionals including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and health colleagues.

The successful applicant will be able to evidence:
  1. Ensure that strength based motivational approaches are used to ensure the wellbeing and wellness of individuals. To encourage service users to self-care and support healthier lives.
  2. Be aware of performance in using strength based approaches, motivational interviewing and coaching techniques, to signpost callers to a to a range of resources including universal services, through to specialist commissioned provision.

Please note: Your contract will be 37 hours per week, between 8am till 8pm, 5 days over 7 including evenings, weekends and bank holidays if required by the needs of the service.
