Job Introduction
Investment Analyst – Property
West Yorkshire Pension Fund - Bradford, England, United Kingdom (hybrid working model with 3 days per week in the office)
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical investment professional to join our team at West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) as an Investment Analyst for property (funds and direct assets). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing investment analysis and due diligence on a range of global property funds and direct assets.
You will work closely with the team’s senior investment professionals, contributing analysis and commentary to support new investment decisions and portfolio liquidity solutions. This work will broaden, diversify, and strengthen as the portfolio grows and the Fund transitions to become an FCA-regulated Pool.
As part of wider total portfolio management, you would be expected to provide subject-matter expertise, thematic input and strategic engagement for the CIO and the wider WYPF investment team.
You will serve as a trusted resource and exercise sound judgement when evaluating investment and divestment opportunities and their associated contract terms. An important aspect of the role is the ability to analyse and distil large quantities of data and provide summary conclusions in layman’s terms.
Candidates will ideally be CFA, CAIA, or RICS part-qualified (or equivalent) and have investment experience with a knowledge and understanding of the real estate market. In addition, candidates must have:
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues in layman’s terms.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with attention to detail.
- A good working knowledge of the real estate market, its associated legal documentation and best practice.
- A strong work ethic, be a team player and demonstrate a strong record of achievement.
Candidates must be independent, resourceful, methodical with good problem-solving skills, and willing to travel to offsite meetings. You must be able to meet deadlines and support others when required. You will have strong interpersonal and report writing skills and be commercially minded.
This is a unique opportunity to influence key decision-making for a growing property portfolio. If you think you have what it takes to help drive WYPF to even greater success, we want to hear from you.
This post is subject to a basic check with the disclosure and barring service.
