Learning Mentor

Job Introduction

These are exciting posts within the Medical Needs & Hospital Education Service which is based at our Owlet Road provision in Shipley focused on educating and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people with medical needs who are unable to attend their on-roll school. We are seeking to recruit two Learning Mentors to join our team of enthusiastic professionals. One post will focus on English & Literacy/Reading Intervention and the other on Maths & Numeracy Intervention across all year groups (Y1 to Y11).


The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Work in partnership with all service staff, health services, schools and education providers to support children and young people with a wide range of health and medical needs
  • Plan and deliver learning interventions under the supervision of the line manager to groups of CYP with a wide range of health and medical needs 
  • Support teachers and managers within the service to ensure that learning continues while not in full time education
