Job Introduction
Bradford Museums and Galleries runs four historic venues located in different areas of Bradford district and attract 150,000 visits in addition to 18,000 school visits annually. The museum service works to ensure that everyone can experience and contribute to the Bradford district story. All our museums are in neighbourhoods with diverse and changing populations and provide places for people to learn about and celebrate their heritage in welcoming spaces where people from all communities can feel safe to be themselves and have opportunities to learn, share and create.
We are looking for a dynamic individual, preferably with either museum and/or teaching experience, to enhance the museum and gallery learning experience by devising and delivering high quality learning services to schools, students, and special needs groups. Responsible for developing and maintaining the learning offer across the service working closely with the learning and service staff teams.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- To develop and deliver National-Curriculum related programmes of activities, live interpretation and workshops for schools relating to our Core Collections
- To assist schools with pre and post visit information and supporting materials.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the sector (formal and informal learning) particularly with respect to changes in the National Curriculum
