Job Introduction

The mail & packing department is a busy, thriving service providing a full internal and external confidential waste service for Bradford Council and external customers.  Alongside assisting the mailroom enveloping high volumes of letters,  documents, mailshots and leaflets.

Role Description

As a Mail & Packing Operative, you will share the responsibility of delivering high-quality services, providing Council-wide departmental support.

The successful candidate will work as part of a busy, efficient team with varying levels of characteristics to meet business needs and customer expectations. All is completed to the highest of standards, and meeting GDPR requirements, service level agreements, and statutory deadlines. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. 

 The main responsibilities of this role:


    • Prepare confidential waste for disposal
    • Hand packing of letters and mailshots
    • Disposal of confidential waste using industrial shredders
