The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

Bradford Council is seeking to recruit a number of PCV drivers for the Passenger Transport Service. This service is part of the overall Travel Assistance Service (which works with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver the Council’s policy on travel assistance) and the post of PCV Driver supports the provision of passenger transport for adults and children using the Council’s fleet of minibuses
The main purposes of this post are:
To safely transport vulnerable children and adults from home to pre-arranged locations as determined by the client’s needs and be responsible for the care and welfare of clients during transportation
- To carry out additional Driving or Passenger Escorting duties as determined by both the needs of the clients and operational needs.
- To deliver a cost efficient and quality, high standard and safe service that meets the needs of all of our clients.
- D1 Driving licence is required (obtained by additional test or passed driving test pre 1997)
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the new service as it embarks on an ambitious transformation programme.
This role will be based at Shearbridge Depot, Shearbridge Road, Bradford BD7 1PU
