Programme Manager - Employment and Skills

Job Introduction

The Council's Employment and Skills Service is delighted to be recruiting a new Programme Manager to join our high-flying exceptional team.   Our Strategy & Resources team is the backbone to the Employment & Skills Service providing specialist support across a number of functions. We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and experienced Programme Manager to help us drive key strategic and transformational projects within the employment and skills arena, contributing to great career and personal outcomes for the people of the Bradford District.

If you have strong capabilities around leading complex projects, cross sector working, building effective relationships, managing project teams to deliver to tight timescales and facilitating partnership boards, then we would love to receive your application.

The initial responsibilities and work areas for the post will include but will not be limited to:

  • Leading and being responsible for delivering a new project to improve the Council’s entry level recruitment processes – connecting the needs of departments with Human Resources processes and SkillsHouse’s support. This will involve running a working group; building relationships with colleagues to ensure new and current processes are identified, amended and improved as necessary; and then leading a cross-council communications campaign to promote the opportunities the new approach will bring.
  • Managing and leading the work of a cross-sector partnership board, working closely with the Senior Responsible Office and Chair of the Board. This will include making connections and building relationships with a diverse Board membership; creating an active and engaging purpose for the Board and its meetings; ensuring the work programme is delivered and reported on.
  • Supporting the Employment and Skills Service’s internal development – sharing project management approaches as needed, supporting work placements, contributing to team/service development days and networks.

A basic disclosure and barring check is required to be undertaken as part of this role.
