Job Introduction
Built Environment within the Council's Assets and Facilities Management Service looks after the development of new and the maintenance of existing Council's property assets. The Council's property portfolio is varied including corporate offices and depots, leisure centres, libraries, residential homes, other community facilities and schools. Our projects range from the construction of new schools to day-to-day reactive property maintenance along with developing programmes of activity to reduce the environmental impact of the Council's estate.
We are looking for a Project Management and Quantity Surveying Manager to join our dedicated team in the Corporate Resources Department. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- To effectively manage and develop the staff in the service's quantity surveying and project management teams,
- Take a pivotal role in ensuring Council construction projects are run effectively and delivered on time and within budget with a keen focus of ensuring value for money at every project stage,
- Having an eye to the future to stay informed of the challenges and changes impacting the building construction sector and then sharing that knowledge with colleagues and clients so that the service always remains fit for purpose, and
- Working closely with colleagues across Built Environment to deliver its service plan objectives.
