Job Introduction
Are you passionate about heritage, landscape design, and community engagement? Do you thrive on leading ambitious projects that revitalise public spaces, connect communities, and celebrate history? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Bradford Council’s Landscape Design & Conservation Team is looking for a dedicated professional to lead and manage the Heart of Horton project—a transformative initiative focused on restoring and enhancing Horton Park, one of Bradford’s most historic and cherished green spaces.
This one-year role will focus on developing a National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) bid. If the bid is successful, you'll have the opportunity to continue and deliver the full project leading up to a celebration of 150 years since Horton Park opened on 25th May 1878.
We are looking for a Project Officer to join our dedicated team in the Department of Place. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- Manage the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) grant application process, formulating procedures, giving advice, appraising applications, making recommendations to the Project Team and Project Board, managing the grant application case load against available funding, processing claims for payment and making financial returns.
- The postholder will work largely on their own initiative and supervise the project in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with preset guidelines and priorities.
- To use professional judgement in answering enquiries from the general public, within the Council and other stakeholders in the Heart of Horton project, preparing reports as required.
- Maintain the engagement and commitment of all stakeholders including members of the public, consultants, Elected Members of the Council, Council staff, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other relevant external organisations.
- Maintain confidentiality of information in relation to the Heart of Horton project, disclosure of which would pose reputation risk to the Council.
