Job Introduction
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our dedicated team in the Highway Development Control section on a 3-year fixed term contract. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- To provide expertise in highway development control matters within the Authority.
- A knowledge of highway design standards, techniques and codes of practice coupled with experience in the design and construction of new highways is essential to allow you to make recommendations and give guidance and professional advice when assessing the highway implications and impacts of development proposals including negotiating highway benefits where appropriate.
- To formulate the highway input to reports on planning applications for use at Area Planning Panel and to support and advise the elected Members of the Council as the accountable representatives of the public and assist in servicing the Area Planning Panels.
