A small team of Traffic Safety and Parking Management engineers covering the Bradford East, South & West constituencies
Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to shape the future of the district’s road network and make a significant contribution to road safety. As part of the Traffic & Road Safety (South) team you will play a key integral part in determining and delivering programmes. You will have responsibility for all Traffic matters in one of the district’s 5 parliamentary constituencies (currently Bradford East) including the development of future Safer Roads and other schemes programmes. The role also involves carrying out feasibility studies and producing detailed design work for a wide variety of schemes. You will be required to manage Assistant Engineers and Apprentices within the team to assist in the delivery of projects
You must have the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and partners, acting as an independent expert. We need an ‘innovative’ thinker and solution finder that can enhance the district’s ‘low carbon’ economy.
The successful candidate will need to be an effective communicator and accurate record keeper and be able to prioritise their own workload and make decisions independently; an ability to use the Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD design package is also essential.
The post operates within a flexible hours working system which includes an element of working from home and also benefits from salary sacrifice car loans and the cycle to work initiative.
