Job Introduction
The Local Plan team is a multidisciplinary team that are responsible for the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the statutory Local Plan for the district. The team support the districts growth ambitions shaping where and when development can take place alongside assisting the delivery of Neighbourhood Development Plans.
We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our dedicated team in the Local Plan team in the Department of Place. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- To contribute to and prepare a range of planning policy documents to maintain an up to date and effective Local Plan for the District, which provides a sustainable development strategy which addresses the District’s priorities and meets statutory requirements.
- To contribute to the implementation of the Local Plan through providing policy advice and guidance, and the preparation and publication of data and information, as required.
- To develop, implement and maintain effective performance monitoring systems in support of the Local Plan, including appropriate data and collection systems and providing information by GIS, digital and electronic means as well as within relevant reports.
