Our Domestic Abuse Support Workers and IDVAs are key roles within our Community team, as they provide a range of community-based support services for individuals who have experienced, or are currently experiencing domestic abuse, including those presenting with complex needs.

About the role

The Support Worker roles sit within our Outreach team and will provide a range of short term, community-based support services for women who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, domestic abuse and wish to stay in their own homes.

The IDVA role sits within the Community Services Team offering a pro-active crisis response service to individuals experiencing domestic abuse assessed as being at high risk of imminent harm.

You will have a case load of clients to whom you will provide high quality and pro-active support, delivering a pathway of care which focusses on safety planning, safe accommodation, practical safety measures and use of the civil and criminal justice systems in order to increase protection and support the transition of women and children from violent situations into safe and independent living.

We currently have 3 vacancies;

1. Domestic Abuse Support Worker. Part time, 30 hours, 4 days a week, £26,751 FTE, actual salary is £21,400 per annum. Fixed term 12 months, initially with possibility to become permanent.

2. Domestic Abuse Support Worker. Part time, 30 hours, 4 days a week, £26,751 FTE, actual salary is £21,400 per annum. Fixed term 12 months, initially with possibility to become permanent.

3. IDVA. Full time, 37.54 hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, £27,898 per annum. Fixed term 12 months, initially with possibility to become permanent.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of supporting survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence or vulnerable clients. These roles requires someone who is non-judgemental and empathic in their approach and who can communicate confidently with someone in distress.

Our ideal candidates will have a proven track record of partnership working, with the skills to build and maintain positive relationships with partners and have experience and understanding of safeguarding processes.

Within these roles you will need to be able to deal with changing priorities and respond calmly, whilst seeking to resolve issues promptly. We are looking for candidates who are great team players and bring a ‘can do’ attitude.
