Team Description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Work Team Manager to lead and manage our central City Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The successful candidate will be working for Bradford Local Authority in an integrated Mental Health Team. The team consists of Social Workers, Approved Mental Health Professionals, and Community Care Officers. The team covers a diverse demographic area with complex mental health and social needs. The team consists of other Health Managers and Health professionals to support people with mental health needs. The successful candidate will therefore work alongside health colleagues to ensure that the team functions effectively and that we deliver Local Authority functions. The team is committed to working alongside the local community to enable them to achieve their outcomes. The team undertakes Care Act assessments, s.42 safeguarding enquiries and works in line with the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
Role Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering Local Authority functions within an integrated mental health team.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- Supervise, manage and appraise all staff employed by the Bradford Local Authority within the CMHT. To effectively manage staff to ensure high performance. Use Business Intelligence data and audits to improve overall team performance.
- Oversee delivery of statutory duties in line with Care Act, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
- To fulfil the Local Authority's safeguarding functions by ensuring appropriate safeguards for people with mental health needs.
- Maintain strong links with the integrated Mental Health Trust. Work with Trust colleagues to ensure the team operates safely and effectively.
- Undertake all elements of staff management including recruitment, progression, capability, health and wellbeing, reasonable adjustments, absences and complaints.
