Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technician

Job Introduction

The Public Mortuary and Forensic Science Centre is a facility operated by Bradford Council on behalf of HM Coroner West Yorkshire (Western) for the local authority areas of Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale.  It provides state of the art mortuary and forensic post mortem facilities. 

 We are looking for a Trainee Anatomical Pathology Technician to join our dedicated team. 

 The main responsibilities of this role:

  • You will undertake an a training programme whilst working in the mortuary setting and progress to gain the Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology / Level 3 Health Care Science (Anatomical Pathology Technology). 
  • The Facility works in close partnership with the local community to ensure that the needs of all communities are met.
  •  You will be required to assist in all aspects of minimally invasive digital autopsy procedures/Post mortem procedures as part of your training schedule.
  •  You will adhere to all procedures within the mortuary , including the Human Tissue Authority , HSE , following the mortuary's standard operating procedures to complete each task undertaken to a high standard.
  •  You will be competency assessed on each activity with the mortuary and you will complete mandatory training provided by Bradford Council.

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
