Waste Disposal Driver/Labourer

Job Introduction

Waste & Fleet Services are looking for an LGV Driver/Labourer within Waste Disposals based at Bowling Back Lane Transfer Loading Station, Bradford, the role is 37 plus 5.5 hours contractual overtime Monday to Friday.

Driving LGV Vehicles, Hook Lifts and Bulk Ejection Trailers collecting and delivering waste and recyclables from our waste disposal sites to 3rd party processing plants & disposal sites.  

Working at our Transfer Loading Stations and Household Waste Recycling Centres, assisting and advising customers & service users, operating large items of plant machinery & equipment, compaction equipment, loading shovels & 360 wheeled excavators. 

Completing required paperwork such as delivery/collection notes, maintenance forms and vehicle and driving records. 

You will also need to: 

  • Hold a current LGV class 1 (CE) licence, a valid driver’s CPC and a digital drivers card.
  • Have experience of driving and maintaining LGV class 1 vehicles including Hook Loaders
  • Have a positive approach to Health & Safety and safe operations.
  • Have experience of manual work regarding the handling of weight, lifting and walking long distances.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete work, plant and vehicle record sheets.
