Whilst you will be mainly working within bulks at times you may be called upon to assist in collecting other waste.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of a professional collection crew, you will:
- Drive an HGV, sometimes in challenging environments
- Collect Bulk Waste, household Waste, recycling and garden waste across the district
- Work closely with your team to complete daily routes safely and efficiently
- Handle a range of Bulk Waste, containers including wheeled bins, sacks and commercial bins
- Help ensure vehicles and equipment are clean, safe and well maintained
- Deliver a courteous, helpful service to residents and local businesses
This is an active, physical role - you’ll be on your feet and moving throughout the day - and you’ll finish each shift knowing you’ve made a real difference in keeping your community clean, safe and running smoothly.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re not just looking for experience - we’re looking for the right attitude. Experience in waste collection or similar outdoor work is helpful, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Professional drivers, with strong confident driving skills particularly when reversing.
- Physically fit and happy to work outdoors all year round
- Motivated, reliable, and team-focused with a strong work ethic.
- Reliable, Safety-conscious and Team focused at all times
- Professional and respectful when dealing with members of the public
