Job Introduction
Waste & Fleet Services are looking to recruit a Weighbridge Officer within Waste Disposals based at Bowling Back Lane Transfer Loading Station, 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
The role of the Weighbridge Officer is to help deliver a cost-effective service by providing a flexible, efficient and constructive Weighbridge Service, dealing with residents, contractors and customers visiting the site.
Responsibilities will include the accurate recording of vehicle loads in and out of the Transfer Loading Station and maintaining clerical records as well as managing customer/financial accounts for reporting and invoicing purposes. Give advice and guidance to the public on the disposal of all waste types, including hazardous waste and all applicable regulations.
Applicants must have;
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject – i.e. waste, IT, customer service, administration.
- A working knowledge of Waste Management including the Council’s Duty of Care (Environmental Protection Act 1990-96).
- Have a driving licence.
