We currently have a vacancy for 2 x Projects Lead to join our Employment and Skills Team.

As part of the Employment and Skills team this exciting role will contribute to ensuring West Yorkshire is the best place to learn, work, and live by growing the local economy, supporting businesses to thrive, and enabling everyone to access quality support and training to prepare for and make progress in their careers.

West Yorkshire will be part of a national drive to help improve the health of the population and increase economic growth. The focus is on providing support to reduce the number of people who cannot work because of ill health, this role will contribute to the regional response.

The Role:

Reporting into the Inclusive Economy Manager (Employment Support) your key responsibilities will include:

• Influencing the development, implementation and continuous improvement of health and employment programmes aimed at empowering individuals with health conditions and disabilities to explore or sustain employment opportunities across West Yorkshire.

• Leading themanagement of high-profile programmes relating to work, health and skills.

• Building mutual respect and trust with internal and external partners whilst continuing to build a network of contacts to work collaboratively on the employment, health and skills agenda.

• Managing the support and communications with key stakeholders and delivery partners to assist with the successful delivery of programmes.

About You:

You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience

• A positive and proactive team member with demonstrable experience of developing and delivering employment, health and skills programmes.

• A collaborator with proven leadership and project management skills and techniques.

• Knowledge of Supported Employmentmodels, including Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF), along with a strong adherence to these models.

• Experience of successfully working in partnership with delivery partners and key stakeholders.

• Highly organised and able to maintain, improve and develop processes, services and systems to manage complex programmes.

• Motivated to support projects to achieve and exceed performance and financial targets.

• Ability to evaluate and develop new processes to deliver new projects that align to organisational and economic needs.

• Experience of directing team priorities and managing external influences to achieve targets.

Secondment opportunities will be considered from internal candidates for this post, however in line with the Combined Authority’s Secondments Policy, you must have 12 months’ service in your current role and seek permission from your current line manager before applying.

Internal candidates can apply for the role on a fixed term basis and will not require a minimum of 12 months’ service, nor their current line manager’s permission if applying for the role as fixed term as opposed to a secondment.

Whilst agile working is an option for most staff, there is an expectation that employees who work in an agile way spend a proportion of their working week at their office base, which for the majority of staff will be Wellington House in Leeds City Centre. The days and hours the postholder will be expected to be on site, will be discussed during interview.

Please note that whilst it is our policy to recruit at SP1 for all appointments, which is the salary stated above, each role includes career salary progression, with incremental increases applicable in most cases on an annual basis.
