Job Introduction
Due to increased workload, we are seeking an extra Administration Officer to join our busy but friendly Housing Support Team. The team of nine officers and a Senior provide flexible and professional support to the Housing Operations service which carries out a wide range of functions that include enforcement of housing standards in rented properties, licensing of HMOs, delivery of adaptations to disabled people, provision of financial assistance to vulnerable homeowners and bringing empty properties back into use. The team will also now be supporting officers dealing with new enforcement powers under the Renters Rights Act.
Applicants will need to show that they have experience of office/ clerical work which includes dealing with members of the public and following complex operational procedures with a high degree of accuracy. Experience of using complex IT packages relating to the area of work is also needed.
The main responsibilities of the post are
- Covering a public phone line on a rota basis, dealing with queries about ongoing work and taking new service requests
- Carrying out a range of tasks and functions, supporting critical business processes
- Maintaining a range of information systems in line with service user guidelines/procedures and in accordance with the Data Protection Act,
- Liaison with other sections/department to verify information and/or seek authorisation for action.
