Administrative Assistant

Job Introduction

The Chief Executive’s Office is offering a unique 12-month secondment for a hardworking administrative assistant to develop their skills while supporting the Council’s Chief Executive and senior leadership.


The postholder will work as part of the Chief Executive’s team in City Hall and undertake a full range of administrative responsibilities including monitoring the CEO in box; logging enquiries on EDMS, directing them to the appropriate council departments and ensuring that they receive timely responses, helping to prepare presentations and draft correspondence, arranging meetings, dealing with internal and external customers face to face, in writing and over the telephone.


We are looking for someone who works hard, enjoys being part of a team, who can keep confidentiality in all aspects of the post and is keen to develop their skills and understanding of how the council works. The postholder will gain experience working at the heart of the organisation and in dealing with a range of people including senior officers, councillors, MPs, and members of the public.
