We are excited to seek 2 motivated managers with a can-do approach to become part of our City of Culture Team. You will provide a service to support the delivery of City of Culture 2025 events over a 14-month programme maintaining high levels of cleanliness and enforcement of environmental issues.

The new post holders will manage a team of 16 Street Cleansing Ambassadors, 4 Area Operations Supervisors and a Mechanical Sweeper Driver, as well as matrix managing Gardeners, Neighbourhood Wardens, Environmental Enforcement Officer, ASB Officer and other staff – responsible for delivering high quality and consistent cleansing across the district.

To assist in the development and implementation of strategies and approaches to promote a clean, green and safe district.  Ensure all staff and vehicles are compliant with all relevant legislation, policies and practices in relation to this specialist area of work.

You will need to:

  • Be able to hit the ground running in a fast paced and sometimes demanding role.
  • You will be organized, logical, pro-active and have the ability to motivate both yourself and others.
  • You will be able to work on a range of tasks at any one-time prioritizing workloads for both you and others.
  • You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work in a multi-agency environment with both internal and external partners.
  • You will have strong IT and office based skills. 

To be ready for this opportunity you need to possess the relevant experience/qualifications:

  • Relevant and demonstrable experience of managing Staff and resources
  • Experience of working with a wide range of partners and an understanding of the needs of diverse communities
  • NQF Level 3 or equivalent
