Band 7, £28,142 - £31,022 per annum

 

Temporary until 10th May 2026

 

Days – Monday to Friday

 

Based at: within the Bradford District

 

This is your chance to be part of something extraordinary. Working deep within Neighbourhoods providing a cleansing resource that will make a real difference to people’s lives.

 

Working with a wide range of partners daily we will be tackling and supporting communities in improving the environment. 

 

You will assist the Project Officer and Program Lead by supervising and managing a team of up to 6 Street Cleansing Ambassadors and a Mechanical Sweeper Driver, as well as working alongside Neighbourhood Area Teams, Neighbourhood Wardens, Senior Environmental Enforcement Officers, Highways, Gully Teams, and a number of other partners responsible for delivering high quality cleansing within Neighbourhoods across the district.

 

To assist in delivering an efficient cleansing service across the Bradford District, ensuring all staff and vehicles are compliant with all relevant legislation, policies and practices in relation to this specialist area of work including:

 

  1. The supervision, motivation and development of the staff involved and
  2. The efficient and effective deployment and control of vehicles and other equipment and materials.

 

To be ready for this opportunity you need to possess the relevant experience/qualifications:

  • Supervising and motivating staff
  • Deputising for a senior officer
  • Organising daily workloads
  • Applying a knowledge of Health & Safety, risk assessment and working procedures 
  • Dealing with other colleagues and members of the public
  • Responsibility for onsite security
  • NQF Level 2 or equivalent
  • Class C HGV driving licence (preferred but not essential)

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
