Based in the Adult Sensory Needs Service at Morley Street Resource Centre, Bradford BD7 1BB.

We are looking to recruit a British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter to support Bradford residents’ communication needs when they engage with Bradford Council and other partner organisations’. You will support the delivery of Bradford’s vision by providing fluent BSL interpreting skills across different organisational and professional settings. We are looking for someone who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for Deaf people within our district and for someone who is keen to learn new skills, whilst working in a variety of settings.
This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. The main responsibilities of the post are:
- To provide BSL Interpretation for the Deaf community.
- To assist with mail reading activity and translation of video messages received from the public.
- To maintain and develop interpreting skills and undergo training as appropriate.
- To liaise with social work colleagues where there may be issues of duty of care for service users and professionals.
- Assist and support BSL Coordinator assisting with bookings and enquiries
- British Sign Language (BSL) experience must have included interpreting in a variety of settings.
