Driver Co-ordinator - City Centre Street Cleansing

Job Introduction

We have a dedicated Street Cleansing team who undertake activities such as the litter picking, sweeping, graffiti and fly poster removal, emptying waste bins and removing fly-tipping in the City Centre of Bradford.  We also provide remedial grounds maintenance work such as grass cutting, hedge cutting, use of strimmers, blowers and weed-spraying as and when required.

We are looking for a Driver Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team in the City Centre Street Cleansing service. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. 


We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following competencies: 

  • Supervise and organize staff/resources and workload 
  • Drive a vehicle up to 5.5 tons 
  • A Class C1 driving licence is essential
  • Able to communicate politely with members of the public and others. 
  • Understands the importance of keeping public areas clear of litter and rubbish and can list the hazards which fly tipping, overflowing waste bins and rubbish could create to members of the public.
  • Able to carry out manual tasks to an acceptable standard.
  • Able to work with others at a joint task or on their own.
  • Able to keep an accurate record of events.
  • Able to follow instructions in order to operate equipment safely or carry out operational task.
  • Understands and can implement health and safety risks appropriate to the job. 


Please note, this role operates on a fixed shift pattern which is as follows:

Monday & Wednesday: 10.00am to 6.00pm

Tuesday & Thursday: 6.00am to 2.00pm

Friday: 10am to 5.30pm
