Education Safeguarding Officer (Training and Reviews)

Job Introduction

The Education Safeguarding Service wants to enable all children of compulsory school age in the district to access, attend and enjoy safe settings, and to ensure that the adults who work with them have the knowledge and skills to support them effectively. The aim of this team is to work collaboratively with Council teams and wider agencies to provide a coordinated approach to the well-being of children and young people, whilst continually striving for imaginative and forward thinking practice that will make a difference to the children of Bradford.

We are looking to recruit an Education Safeguarding Officer (Training and Reviews) who will

1.     Encourage effective safeguarding practice across schools/education settings by promoting and championing that advocated by the DfE and the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership and in identifying and responding to practice that falls below such agreed standards and policies.

2.    Ensure delivery of the Local Authority’s statutory duties in regard to education safeguarding and contribute proactively to wider plans and strategies which promote access to education and pupil wellbeing across the district. 

3.    Lead in the delivery of education safeguarding functions with a particular focus on coordinating the Local Authority’s safeguarding training and reviews offer.
