The Emergency Planning Team coordinates the delivery of the duties of the Civil Contingencies Act, they focus on the development and maintaining of emergency plans, training and exercising. Work as an active member of the Local Resilience Forum and co-ordinate responses to emergencies across the district

Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent communication and planning skills to join Bradford Council working within the Emergency Planning Team and reporting to the Head of Operational Resilience and Emergencies.
You will assist the Emergency Planning Manager in the delivery of training and exercising of key plans across all sections of the council and businesses across the district.
The main responsibilities of this role:
1. To develop and deliver in-service training and other training programmes as
required, and maintain personal and professional development in order to meet
the changing demands of the post. Assisting the Emergency Planning Officers
on training courses and exercises as required.
2. To review existing systems and make recommendations for improvement including organising, maintaining and ensuring continuous development and improvement to
the service.
3. Clearly communicate the requirements of projects and prepare clear written
reports on progress and analysis carried out.
4. Provide support to the team on large projects such as Business Continuity, Protect
and Prepare, incident management and plan writing.
5. Work with staff/stakeholders from across different services to support the efficient
and effective delivery of project objectives. This includes other council departments
and partners from across the district including Police, fire, ambulance, NHS and
other Local Authorities.
6. Participate in specialist groups and assist in the development of new procedures to address new issues or operational methods.
7. Undertake business analysis using management information, recognised techniques to outline challenges, opportunities, good practices, and solutions within clearly defined boundaries.
8. To investigate, share and transfer best practice to improve capacity within the Department and ensure all possible lessons learned and knowledge transfer opportunities are exploited
