Job Introduction

The Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Licensing Service is responsible for the licensing, inspection and enforcement of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers, vehicles and operators across the Bradford District.  The key objectives of the service are to promote public safety for the public using taxi and private hire vehicles.


Our IT system is a critical part of managing, administrating and processing licences. As such the applicant needs to have a strong IT background with proven experience in supporting, implementing and upgrading IT Systems, Data Migration, Data Analysis, Reporting, SQL, Power BI and Office 365. Our IT system is required to supply office reporting, management information, tracking of complaints and sanctions against the trade, audit check processes, set tasks and manage workloads for staff and teams. 

We are looking for a new member of our licensing team that has a passion for technology and an enthusiasm for the latest technology and innovations, combined with hands on experience developing challenging IT solutions. You should be an analytical thinker, with the ability to assess and improve IT solutions, while displaying a keen attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical members of staff and stakeholders is an important part of the role. You should have excellent problem solving skills, and a customer focused approach, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
