Job Introduction

ISG are a not-for-profit department within the  Built Environment sector of the Bradford Metropolitan District Council. We manufacture quality PAS24, Secure by design UPVC Windows/Doors, composite entrance Doors, as well as BM-Trada Certified FD30S products.

Our primary aim is to offer opportunity and cater for persons who have protected characteristics/disabilities or have found themselves long term unemployed, We have opportunity for career development in an adapted well mapped factory setting.

Industrial Services Group survey, Manufacture and install UPVC window/Door, composite door and FD30S fire doors under different recognised certified  bodies for the construction industry. We have been trading as a wholly owned part of the Council being established in 1997.

We are looking for a Hygiene and Welfare Technician to join our dedicated team in the Industrial Services Group. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city. 

 The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Adheres to operational procedures and ensure high standards of Cleaning and Safe Working Practices are maintained at all times.
  • Each type of cleaning activity is carried out in compliance to procedure, to the works stipulated and safe use of the COSHH risk assessments. 
  • Correct materials, equipment, PPE and methods are used for each task.  
  • Responsible for the safety of oneself, other work colleagues and customers as required under Health & Safety legislation and the Built Environment operating procedures.
  • Responsible for the care, safety and cleanliness of equipment used: and for the safe use and storage of cleaning materials
  •  Works to achieve scheduled cleaning tasks, use own initiative in deciding the best cleaning routine appropriate for the day due to room uses/weather/changes in customer activity etc.
  • Responds positively to any reasonable customer requests in respect of cleaning. (Taking advice from Line Management if appropriate)
  •  Ensures that any designated cleaning store rooms and chemical store rooms (or cupboards) are kept clean and tidy at all times – COSSH cupboards are in use within BEISG paddock site.
  •  Ensures safety cones/signs are in use when floors are wet, damp or slippery.
  • Ensures work areas are free from slip and trip hazards.
  • Clean and smart in appearance with good standards of personal hygiene.
  •  Courteous and respectful to customers and work colleagues at all times.
  • Able to work to deadlines, with precision and speed as appropriate to complete tasks to preset times.
  • To make every effort to remain fit and healthy so that attendance at work is maximised.
