Innovate UK Business Growth International Business Officer (Northern Region)

Job Introduction

Part of Innovate UK Business Growth, the team at Bradford Council helps deliver bespoke business growth and scaling support for ambitious, innovative SMEs in our region.
   
We also operate the National Enquiry Gateway for Innovate UK Business Growth, handling all initial calls and emails from companies and directing them to the right support, whether that be from within our nationwide specialist teams, from the wider family of Innovate UK services or from other business support providers.


The service is delivered by the Council in partnership with a number of other organisations across the UK and we work closely with a range of other agencies in the region including the Department for Business and Trade, the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Chambers of Commerce.

This post forms part of the regional delivery team and you will have a varied range of duties including:
  • Assisting innovation-led companies in the growth and development of their business in international markets; 
  • Providing information and advice to these companies on matters relating to innovation and international business which may affect them;
  • Offering detailed advice and information on regulatory issues, standards, market access and market research;
  • Promote the service locally and to collaborate with stakeholders regionally, nationally and internationally;
  • To identify – from enquiries, meetings, referrals or events – innovation-led regional companies with an ambition or potential to grow their business through international collaboration.
