Market Attendant

Job Introduction

The Markets Service is part of the Sport & Culture within the Department of Place and operates two   retail indoor markets in Bradford City Centre and  Keighley, and outdoor markets at Shipley, Bingley & Ilkley. In addition, the service operates a Wholesale Market and delivers several independent open air market style events.

We are looking for a Market Attendant to join our dedicated team that will play a key role in the day-to-day cleaning function at our Wholesale Market 

The main responsibilities of this role are:

a)To undertake the cleaning and waste removal/recycling individually or as part of a team ,in accordance with Markets Quality Procedures to ensure the delivery of a safe and clean market for the market tenants ,market retailers and other users.

b) To comply with the markets Health & Safety Polices and ensure they are strictly adhered to and safe working practices are operated within the areas of the market.

c) To support the Markets Operations Manager in the general administration and management of the market by recording any poor waste or trading practices by the tenants and retailers.

To meet this challenge, you should have practical experience of cleaning and using mechanical cleaning equipment.  You will  possess good people skills, be enthusiastic, be a team player  and able to work weekends and bank holidays as required
