Net Zero Project Manager

The Sustainability Service within the Department of Place is committed to creating a healthier, more sustainable environment in the Bradford district. This team plays a crucial role in developing, implementing and supporting initiatives that help to reduce our carbon emissions, clean our air, improve health, create resilience and support our local economy.

We are looking for a passionate, knowledgeable and capable person to join our innovative and dedicated team as Net Zero Project Manager. This role offers the right candidate an opportunity to make a real difference in our beautiful, vibrant and diverse district. This role will be varied but is likely to have a significant focus on Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure, including initially leading on the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) project for Bradford District.

 The main responsibilities of this role:

  • To project or contract manage a range of initiatives to further the District’s Net Zero ambitions by reducing carbon emissions to transition towards a sustainable circular economy and healthier and more resilient communities. 
  • To project manage the design, procurement and delivery of a range of infrastructure projects as part of the Council’s commitment towards tackling Climate Change and improving air quality. 
  • To manage the preparation of submissions, bids and other key documents with a view to securing large financial investment in sustainability and net zero related projects from a wide range of sources (both internal and external). To write, draft and contribute (as appropriate) to the preparation and presentation of reports.
