Job Introduction
- Working alongside Environmental Enforcement Officers to address issues such as littering, fly-tipping, commercial and domestic waste problems.
- Working closely with businesses and residents assisting with environmental challenges particularly in the City Centre. This involves educating, persuading, and negotiating with stakeholders to foster a sense of responsibility and community pride.
- Using your initiative and resourcefulness to tackle various environmental issues encountered on patrol.
- Gathering evidence to support enforcement action.
- Undertake a large range of other duties such as dealing with peddlers, buskers, skateboarders, dealing with dogs, low level ASB, and fly posting etc.
- You will work with a variety of internal and external partners to meet objectives and find workable solutions to the challenges faced.
- A positive individual with a can-do approach who is organized, self-driven and motivated.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for engaging with diverse communities. Fluency in Eastern European or Asian languages spoken in our district is highly desirable but not essential.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, demonstrating resilience and dedication to maintaining high standards in the community.
- Willingness to undergo formal training and shadowing to develop proficiency in environmental enforcement procedures.
