SEND Auditor

Job Introduction

Bradford SEND Services are on an exciting, continual improvement journey. To support in this, we are looking for a SEND Auditor who has an expertise and background in either Education or Health or Social Care. You will have a working knowledge and understanding of the SEND Reforms and SEND Code of Practice and effective partnership working between agencies. You will have experience of undertaking formal reviews or audits related to either Education, Health or Social Care, with the professional confidence and ability to work constructively with senior managers offering a critical perspective and appropriate challenge and escalation. You will also be confident presenting to partners at all levels, including providing training to large groups of colleagues.

The key purpose of this role is to:

- provide independent monitoring and scrutiny of Education, Health and Care Plans for children, ensuring appropriate and sufficient plans are developed that meet the needs of children and young people

- provide professional auditing opinions on the suitability and ongoing appropriateness of plans for Children, taking into account key life stage boundaries for children to ensure their evolving needs are understood and reflected back into plans with suitable provisions being provided for them

- quality assure and, when required, challenge and support the work of the Local Authority and other agencies to drive improvements in practice to ensure plans are sufficient

In return you will be joining Bradford at an exciting time where you will join the established SEND Transformation and Compliance team. You will have the opportunity to help drive forward SEND service changes and be an integral part of a wider improvement journey to improve the outcomes and lived experiences for children and young people with SEND in Bradford. 

An Enhanced Disclosure check with Barred List will be undertaken for this post.
