Job Introduction
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Sweeper Driver to join our dedicated team in the Environment-Parks & Street Cleansing. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- Effective collection of street litter and Detritus in Parks, highways and public areas.
- To drive and operate a Mechanical Sweeper on scheduled routes to sweep pavements and precincts and clean road channels, road surfaces and other hard surfaces.
- Drive and operate a range of sweeping vehicles, using appropriate attachments. Ensure hazard warnings are displayed, undertake seasonal work, disposal of contents of vehicle, vehicle checks, required routine maintenance and cleaning. Ensure the safety of the vehicle and safe working on the highway.
- Other duties as directed by the Parks & Street Cleansing Manager which are aligned to the other areas of the Street Cleansing operation and may involve driving different types or vehicle or engaging in other manual work.
