Band 4, £25,185 per annum

 

Temporary until 10th May 2026

 

Days - 37 hours Monday to Friday 

 

Based at: within the Bradford District

 

This is your chance to be part of something extraordinary. Working deep within Neighbourhoods providing a cleansing resource that will make a real difference to people’s lives.

 

Working with a wide range of partners daily we will be tackling and supporting communities in improving the environment. 

 

We are excited to seek 6 motivated cleansing ambassadors with a can-do approach to become part of our Neighbourhood Environmental Enforcement Team (NEAT). 

 

The post-holder will be essential to maintaining a high level of cleanliness and customer satisfaction within neighbourhoods, acting in the role of a street cleansing ambassador for the Council.

This service will work in partnership with a range of other internal and external partners to make improvements within neighbourhoods and make a real difference!

The successful candidate will report to their Area Operations Supervisor or Program Lead. 

 

To be ready for this opportunity you need to possess:

  • Ability to utilise a variety of tools and equipment to tackle issues, for example, litter pickers, brushes, shovels, electric vacuum cleaners for street cleansing, hand-carts graffiti wipes, and anything else that your manager feels will improve your ability to deliver services.
  • Will require good mobility e.g. walk long distances, lift and carry. Able to use hand held tools and vibratory equipment.
  • Able to undertake heavy lifting with physical effort whilst standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Able to grip with both hands.
  • Operatives will be expected to work anywhere within the Bradford Metropolitan District Council area.
  • Is required to work in all weather conditions in an open environment. 
  • Staff are provided with protective and safety clothing.

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

      

Please note that interviews will be scheduled on 7th November 2025. Successful candidates will be notified about their interview date at the earliest opportunity. Unfortunately, we will be unable to change the date scheduled once sent.
