Area Operations Supervisor (City of Culture 2025)

Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture is getting ready to bring 12 unforgettable months of creativity, culture and the arts. We are excited to seek motivated supervisors with a can-do approach to become part of our City of Culture Team. You will provide on-site support over a 14-month programme maintaining high levels of cleanliness and enforcement of environmental issues.

You will assist the Area Operations Manager by supervising and managing a team of up to 8 Street Cleansing Ambassadors out of a 16 strong team. You will be a driver coordinating planned works across Bradford and will be responsible for delivering high quality and consistent cleansing across the district.

To assist in delivering an efficient cleansing service across the Bradford District, ensuring all staff and vehicles are compliant with all relevant legislation, policies and practices in relation to this specialist area of work including:
  • The supervision, motivation and development of the staff involved an
  • The efficient and effective deployment and control of vehicles and other equipment and materials.
To be ready for this opportunity you need to possess the relevant experience/qualifications:
  • Supervising and motivating staff
  • Deputising for a senior officer
  • Organising daily workloads
  • Applying a knowledge of Health & Safety, risk assessment and working procedures 
  • Dealing with other colleagues and members of the public
  • Responsibility for onsite security
  • NQF Level 2 or equivalent
  • Class C HGV driving licence (preferred but not essential)


Please note this role operates on a 4x4 shift pattern which is averaged over  8 weeks, including working unsocial hours and weekends between 6am and 10pm.
