Duty Officer

Job Introduction

We currently have a vacancy for the post of Duty Officer at Ilkley Pool and Lido. This post is likely to be of interest to existing Duty Officers and Senior Attendants or staff that meets the relevant criteria.

 Duties will be wide ranging and encompass everything from opening up / closing down, ordering of goods, supervision of both users and staff, to management of Health & Safety and training of staff. 

 Ilkley Pool has a very extensive Bradford Aquatics programme and becomes a large tourist attraction throughout the summer months. 

 The appointed person will be an integral part of a management team dedicated to maximising the potential of the pool and optimising income of the facility. The successful candidates should have a good background within the Leisure field and be able to work in reception, teach the skills of swimming to schools and swimming lessons, act as designated First Aid person and be proficient and qualified in pool plant operations.

 Qualifications

  • The post-holder must hold or be working towards Level 3 NVQ in Sport & Leisure. Consideration will be given to equivalent qualifications
  • The post-holder will have a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
  • The post-holder will hold a National Pool Plant Operators Certificate
  • The post-holder will hold a current First Aid at Work Certificate
  • The post-holder will have or be working towards an ASA Level 2 Teachers Certificate

An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
