Job Introduction
This post is only open to Bradford Council Employees who are on Established or Fixed Term Contract because the Council has to consider employment opportunities for its workforce.
Shipley Pool is a popular tourist attraction. Therefore we are looking for an experienced member of staff to fulfil the role as a full time Duty Officer to help enable a successful day to day running of the facility. The candidate must be able to work during the Lido opening times and be flexible throughout busy periods. This post is likely to be of interest to existing Duty Officers/Senior Attendants or other knowledgeable staff members who are looking to gain the extra experience and meet the criteria needed. Duties will be wide ranging and encompass everything from opening up/closing down, ordering of goods, constant supervision of both users and staff, management of Health & Safety, training of staff and the control of both the indoor and outdoor pool (see job profile attached).
The appointed person will be an integral part of a management team dedicated to maximising the potential of the pool, optimising income of the facility. The successful candidates will already have a good background within the sport and leisure industry and be able to work on poolside, act as designated First Aider and be proficient and qualified in pool plant operations.
Qualifications
- Must hold or be working towards Level 3 NVQ in Sport & Leisure. Consideration will be given to equivalent qualifications.
- The post-holder will have a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
- The post-holder will hold a National Pool Plant Operators Certificate.
- The post-holder will hold a current First Aid at Work Certificate.
- The post-holder will have an ASA Level 1& 2 Teachers Certificate or be working towards (timescale 6 months)
As this post is suitable for a secondment, interested applicants need to have secured the secondment agreement with their manager prior to the application.
