Job Introduction
We are seeking 3 full time Technical Officers to join the Pollution Team in our Environmental Health Service.
We have vacancies in our Pollution team who are responsible for the investigation of domestic, commercial and industrial noise nuisance and other statutory nuisances such as artificial lighting and air pollution problems. You will also deliver consultation responses to Licensing and Planning Applications and undertake drainage and private water supply investigations.
Bradford is UK City of Culture 2025, so this is a particularly exciting time to join the Environmental Health Service and to be part of the challenge leading up to, and during, 2025. You will be required to assist a team of professional officers within the Environmental Health Service to develop and deliver high quality, cost effective and efficient services whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, supporting guidance, and our Council policies and procedures.
You will be expected to provide advice on technical and legislative matters relating to the delivery of Environmental Health services to a wide range of clients.
You will also need to be enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated and have a ‘can-do’ attitude to enforcement work, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The post requires a Degree in Environmental or associated science or a Diploma in acoustics and noise control/certificate of competency in environmental noise measurement.
A driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle is essential for this post.
